More Than One Way to Dress

Gotta say that I really do LOVE Anthropologie. It seems to have something for whatever you're looking for. My latest find, a super cute dress you can put a different spin on for various occasions.
This dress is absolutely adorable. I know what you're thinking, though. It's winter, who wants to wear a strapless dress? The solution is simple layers.

Pair it with a cute cardigan, tights, and a little heel for an everyday, more laid back look. Or even to keep it more casual try a fitted, basic T under the dress.

This gives you more of an office vibe. Throw on a blazer with pumps and your cute strapless is office friendly.

Midterms are a Killer

Hey guys!
Sorry for the lack of posting. All of my energy has been channelled into studying for the past two weeks. But now midterms are over and the freakish three straight weeks of snow has left me with one or two snow days a week (and snow up to the first story windows!). So with midterms behind me and only a semester left, posts away!
Thanks =)

These Boots Are Made for Walking

Can I just say that I LOVE the obsession with boots lately? I wear my boots any chance I can get. Though I can't get into the booties. While they're adorable the ones I have look weird with jeans/pants. Maybe they're not meant for colder weather. Anywho, I love taller boots and even the over-the-knee look. I tend to wear mine in brown (since that's what goes with most of my wardrobe). My go to outfit when I'm in a rush is denim, close fitting sweater, full scarf and over the knee boots. So easy to throw on and it looks like you spent some time on it. Here's a kind of boots I've been trying to work into my wardrobe.
I love the idea of a motorcycle boot. It plays off that grunge, yet cute, vibe that I have tried so hard to accomplish but never actually achieved. I think it might be super cute to pair this with a high wasted, slightly flow-y, skirt with a shirt tucked in. I think the polar opposites of girly and tough could be potentially great.

Prom Fever

If you're in high school, come moi, then you know that prom season is up and coming. My hometown has the best little shop called Sabrina Style, CLICK HERE, that is a must go if you live around here. Even better, once she's sold one dress no one else from your school can buy that dress for the same event. Desperate to beat the rush and get my dress before the others I found a gorgeous, strapless, emerald green dress that's a sweetheart neckline with a fitted bodice. Though I am converting it into a halter with extra fabric from the bottom; one of the least attractive (& annoying) things to me is tugging on a strapless dress all night.

Loving the Neutrals

I love this outfit, Anthropologie truly is great. I love the idea of a more fitted shirt under a open and loose sweater. The denim is such a great wash, very versatile. I love dark denim because it goes with almost anything and is a sure way to dress up a more casual top for a night on the town. Though I might suggest a cute belt to really cinch in the shape (make sure it's around your natural waistline, that's usually where you're smallest).

'Tis the Season (Still)

Hello! I hope you all had wonderful holidays and that you got exactly what you wanted alongside a few nice surprises. Anywho, even though December has come and gone there is still January and February to enjoy this winter weather. Now don't moan or groan, winter allows you the chance to wear two different ensembles at once. Your winter coat and hat/scarf/gloves/however you please and what you've got hidden under all that winter wear. I truly believe a coat should be cute and practical. Don't go for the anorak (unless you're going skiing or in a severe winter storm, hypothermia's pretty nasty)! Try a peacoat or a lined trench in lieu. Here are a couple ways to pick the perfect coat.

Pop Goes the Color

If you crave the color, try this on for size. I love this vibrant blue, great for all hair colors, too. It will really pop the golden hues for a blonde, emphasize the richness of a brunette, and act as a beautiful contrast for those with raven colored hair. Though I can't say about red-heads, sorry! You'll stand out from the crowd in this gorgeous cerulean blue.

Fit to Flatter

This coat is the epitome of feminine. Very girly and fitted. I love how adorable this would look, and is so effortless! The buttons are a great detail. And speaking of details I love the black trim to add extra visual interest.

Short & Sweet (& Warm)

If you find yourself to be vertically challenged, like my mom, shorter coats are the way to go. This coat is light, so wear a fleece or sweater under it for extra warmth. While the color is on the "blah" side, it allows you to add brightness or pop a pattern with a scarf. This is great because you can buy one coat and multiple scarves and, violĂ , various looks. The scarf shown below incorporates the grays from the coat (so it matches) while adding in a new, brighter, pallet of colors. The perfect splash of color.

Lumberjack Chic

If you feel yourself drawn towards the plaid, here's how to do it. Not only is it cute, but you feel warm just looking at it. You'll be on trend with the plaid and the fleece collar; which only adds to the beauty of the coat. Throw your hair up in a messy bun, put on a pair of jeans, some boots and be on your way!
